The registration of 14 housing cooperatives, including WAPDA Employee Cooperative Housing, has been canceled.
Discontinued societies include WAPDA Employee Cooperative Housing Association, Veterans Cooperative, OGDC Officers Cooperative, Department of Foreign Affairs Cooperative, Work No Ward Cooperative, and Department of Commerce Cooperative Housing Association.
Similarly, registrations of Pakistan Employees Cooperative, PAEC Employees Cooperative, PWD Employees Cooperative, National Police Foundation Cooperative, OGCD Employees Cooperative, Federal Shariat Court Employees Cooperative, Pakistan Professional Cooperative and Engineers Cooperative Housing Society have also been deleted.
The abolition order issued was conveyed by Islamabad’s deputy chief Irfan Nawaz Memon. He is also president of a cooperative in Islamabad. An ICT Registry Office official revealed that 14 companies were originally registered with the ICT Registry Office because they were within the borders of Punjab.
