CDA, SUPARCO signed MoU to establish Geo-Spatial Technology Wing

The Capital Development Authority (CDA) and SUPARCO signed a MoU for establishing the Geo-Spatial Technology Wing at CDA.

Captain (retired) Muhammad Usman Younis, the CDA Chairman, and the chairman of SUPARCO signed the agreement. According to the agreement, SUPARCO will help CDA set up the Geo-Spatial Technology division. SUPARCO will train the newly hired staff for the wing, according to the specifics. The authority will get imagery, including high-resolution photos, on a quarterly basis from SUPARCO.

Additionally, the wing will aid with special monitoring, training, data management, and geospatial services. The Geo-Spatial Technology Cell will be finished in two years, according to the news source. SUPARCO will offer assistance in a variety of areas, including planning, monitoring, and mapping.

The creation of the aforementioned wing will contribute to the infrastructure’s improvement, including mapping based on data from the CDA and planning phase. Additionally, it will support CDA with online data management, including web GIS portals, capacity building, and Geo-Spatial labs, project evaluation based on internal formation, and operational usage of satellite data.
