CDA to award contract for widening, repairing of Park Road

Since the Rawal Dam Interchange has been finished, the Capital Development Authority (CDA) has elected to award the tender for widening and renovating Park Road soon, according to news released on December 19. 

The executives of CDA’s engineering division, whose identities were withheld, noted that the agency had requested bids from businesses run by the government under the PPRRA’s 42(F) regulations. National Logistics Cell and Railcop were two businesses that took part in the bidding process (NLC). 

Additionally, the officials stated that the bid would be submitted to the CDA chairman for approval following the completion of all legal requirements. The CDA will issue orders to formally begin work on the project after the bid is accepted.

According to the specifics, the development will be finished in six months. From Rawal Chowk to Tramari Chowk, Park Road will be renovated and widened as part of the project. The PC-1 states that the road will become three lanes by adding one extra lane on each side and repairing the current lanes. 

The 7.4-kilometer-long route has reportedly experienced traffic issues. According to the news source, the road in question has two lanes and is deteriorated. Therefore, redesigning Park Road will stop the problem of traffic congestion.
