The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has decided to build two youth hostels in Islamabad to make it easier for students to visit.
CDA Youth Hostels for women and men will be built for students and young professionals, making it effortless for them to visit the city on short notice.
The decision was taken at Monday’s meeting chaired by CDA Chairperson, Noor-ul-Amin Mengal. The Chairman asked the CDA’s Planning and Engineering Department to prioritize identifying the location of the proposed hostel.
Engineering member Syed Munawar Shah told the media that the plan to build the hostel has been approved in principle and construction will begin soon.
The planning department is currently looking for suitable locations to build these facilities. Once the site is identified, the CDA will approve his PC-I for the project, following which the bidding process will begin.
Please note that the CDA owns accommodation and hostels in the city, but these are for civil service staff only. There is another site that was formerly used for housing services in sector G-7 but was later abandoned.
