The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has commissioned building inspectors to survey all commercial and high-rise buildings in the city to ensure their stability.
As the details show, Deputy Director General Mohammad Shahbaz Hussein will conduct a survey of all commercial and high-rise buildings within the ICT boundary in all building administration buildings as the federal city is included in Zone 2B of the seismic zone.
CDA Chairman Noor-ul-Amin Mengal urges all developers, residents and owners to have their buildings checked for structural stability by reputable external consultants to avoid adverse events.
A CDA official, whose name has not been released, said the training was conducted to check the structural stability of buildings and to be able to point out defective buildings.
Furthermore, as Islamabad was informed to be in Zone 2-B, awareness of the importance of structural stability of the building needs to be raised among the stakeholders.
