Moazzam Ghurki, Chairman of the Pakistan-China Joint Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCJCCI), announced that Chinese building materials and technology will soon be integrated into Pakistan’s construction industry.

At an executive board meeting at the PCJCCI Secretariat, Ghurki said the introduction of Chinese building materials and technology could revolutionize the sector and provide much-needed support for Pakistan’s economic growth.

Credit rating agency (PACRA) experts have surveyed the local construction industry and revealed that it has reported 6% growth this year.

Experts predict that the sector will grow by a whopping 92% over the next seven years, with a CAGR of 11.8%.

Gurki also stressed the need to stabilize the construction sector by introducing modern technology and budget-friendly infrastructure from China.

With more megaprojects falling under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), Ghurki expressed optimism that the sector’s ratings would improve in the coming years.
