Pakistan’s cement production during the first eight months of the current fiscal year, FY23, saw a negative growth of 11.82 percent, according to data released by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS).
The production stood at 28.163 million tons, compared to 31.938 million tons in the same period of FY22.
Similarly, the production of petroleum products also witnessed a decline of 9.43% during the same period, as indicated by a drop in indices from 98.63 to 89.33.
The interim Quantum Index numbers (QIM) of the Large-Scale Manufacturing Industries reveal that the production of high-speed diesel decreased by 10.88 per cent between July and February of FY23 and FY22, reaching 3.213 billion litres.
However, jet fuel oil saw a growth of 15.48 percent during this period, remaining at 591.745 million liters in FY23, compared to 512.442 million liters in the same period of FY22.
Kerosene oil, on the other hand, experienced a sharp decline of 29.95 percent in volume, falling from 92.395 million liters in July-February FY22 to 64.719 million liters in the corresponding period of FY23.
