The Kalma Chowk Underpass will be fully passable on Pakistan Day (23 March), a news source quoted Bilal Afzal, Punjab’s caretaker Minister of Communications, Works and Excise.
The minister reportedly released this information after attending a review meeting to check on the progress of the underpass construction in the Central Business District (CBD) Punjab, which is under construction.
During the meeting, the Chief Executive Officer of the Central Business District Authority (CBDA), Imran Amin, and the Chief Engineer, Riaz Hussain, updated the Minister on the status of the development work.
According to the details, excavation work for the Ali Zeb Road Underpass will be completed by March 19, and road carpeting work will begin on March 20.
Afzal told parliament that the quality of the project should not be compromised and should meet global safety standards. He also emphasised that no accidents have occurred on such a large-scale construction project.
He loured the site and instructed officials to work around the clock to complete the project on time.
