LDA Sealed Commercial Properties for Non-payment of Dues

  • Last Updated on: 16 April , 2024

The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) closed many shops and commercial properties on Monday (13 February) for failing to pay outstanding commercialization costs.

The operation was conducted in various locations around the city to collect commodification fees and eliminate encroachment on public property.

The operation, overseen by the LDA’s chief urban planner, Asad Zaman, resulted in the closure of several buildings.

The operation, according to sources, is part of his LDA’s anti-intervention campaign to reduce traffic-related problems and turn selected roads into models.

It is important to note that LDA has started work to build nine model roads by direction of the Lahore High Court (LHC).

The operation began at G-1 Market Road in Johar Town where many secondary road obstructions were removed in violation of the Right of Way (RoW).
