The Punjab government is moving towards digitalization despite political unrest. The Excise and Taxation Department of Punjab has expedited the process of obtaining NOC for sale of properties which is another positive development.
Citizens can now get NOC for their properties online, saving them from visiting department branches and standing in long queues.
It is important to note that the sale of property located in the city districts of the province requires a No Objection Certificate (NOC) issued by the Excise and Taxation Department.
The department usually issues more than 1,000 NOCs every day. 40,000 properties are currently recorded in the new system. NOC for properties involved in litigation will not be published publicly.
The Excise and Taxation Department has been allowed by the Punjab government to start recruitment for vacant posts. In the department, there are 416 vacancies for students from grades 5 to 15. The department should post job openings soon.
