Three solutions put forth for renovation of Lahore's Bund Road

  • Last Updated on: 16 April , 2024

The government has decided to refurbish Bund Road to combat the city’s deteriorating conditions, which are increasing traffic congestion and pollution.

The current state of the Bund Road and its many sections is very pathetic due to its deteriorating condition.

Option 1 also proposed a 5.1 metre high three-lane underpass (towards the Babu Sabu Interchange). PC-1 was submitted to the government at a total project cost of about 4,959 kroner, including the acquisition of 10.5 Kanal of land.

Option 2 proposes a six-lane two-lane highway with two protected u-turn lanes from the Babu Sabu interchange to the ring road. The estimated cost is Rs 4,140 crore including the construction cost of Rs 2,079 crore.

A final alternative is his 3-lane overpass for traffic to the Babu Sabu interchange and his 2-lane road on his 6-lane road from Babu Sabu to the Ring Road. It was considered impractical to build an overpass due to the possible adverse effects of passing many heavy trucks.
